We. Are. Back. It's been a while since the last newsletter, it's mainly because you've been keeping us so busy (thank you) and we've been recruiting new folk. Ed being one of them and he's delivering this newsletter (Ed - hi!) so hopefully it's a good read - just don't let him know directly otherwise he'll be asking for a pay rise before he's even completed his probationary period! (Ben)
Let's get into it....there’s lots of exciting releases ahead of us, some great events to look forward to and most importantly in April; Record Store Day!
Our pre-orders section on the website is an ever revolving record (!) of new releases and high quality reissues. We’ve included a few of our favourite pre-orders below, but you can check out our full list of pre-orders HERE - find your favourite.

If there's something that you have your eye on, act fast as allocations are sometimes lower than the demand and titles frequently sell out on pre order.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year... (although Lou would disagree, she's an Xmas / snowy December nut!) Saturday 22nd April sees Record Store Day return, and this year's edition is sure to be one of the best. With releases from artists such as The 1975, Kasabian, Blur and Pearl Jam ranking high on people’s wish lists, it’s important you get down here early to avoid disappointment.
We’ve even had a message from our friend Frank Turner (linky below) who is celebrating the ten year anniversary of his album; Tape Deck Heart with a special RSD re-release, another one to add to your wish list maybe?
And Darren Hayes has been tagging us in his posts too - he's Truly Madly Deeply Insatiable for Beansies (linky below).
We'll be here to serve you great coffees, tasty food throughout the day, and who knows, maybe there’ll be more RSD themed goodies available to buy as well! We'll defo have some bits to give away for you early birds.
Our stock has landed, keep an eye on social media for some sneak peeks, there are some absolute gems. And feel free to check with us beforehand that we’re going to have the records you want before coming on down to join the queue.
RSD Times:
Who knows when: The queue starts!
6am: Staff arrive
(From) 6:30am: Drinks will be served to everyone in the queue
7:45am: We open the shop to let the first ten to fifteen people in
8am - 2pm: RSD is a go and all hell breaks loose*
*Not really, it's all well behaved, slick and a fun, memorable experience!
6pm: We crash n burn
All remaining stock will be available online from 8pm Monday 24th April.

In Store Events:
On May 4th (Star Wars day for those who celebrate), we have the Record Citizens Presents: Indie Citizens Vinyl launch party. Tickets are free and the linky is right HERE. Marseille and Ruby J both appear on this indie compilation and will be performing acoustic sets. Grab free tickets to this intimate show.

Looking ahead to May, we have Smug Roberts returning for another legendary storytelling night. His world tour continues (From Moston to Bury!). Part 2 of his storytelling evening will include all new stories. As always, we know it's going to be a great few hours, tickets are £10 and are available right HERE!
Out Store Events:
On May 7th, Leigh's hottest, talented and funniest band; The Lottery Winners will be in store during the day signing copies of their new album; Anxiety Replacement Therapy. Later in the evening, they'll be across the road at The Met doing a special show to celebrate the release of the new album. You won't want to miss this one! That's the vibe we're getting from lots of folk.
Doors are 7:30pm
Show starts at 8:00pm
Every unit counts as they go for an attack on the charts, we urge fans to purchase the Ticket + CD or Ticket + Vinyl bundles.

Past Events:
Recently we welcomed Welsh band; Holy Coves who were supported by local talent; The Height and Beth Davies. A lovely intimate evening and Holy Coves kindly signed some LP's and CD's that we have available in store and HERE.
Last week The Inspiral Carpets swung by to spend a couple of hours signing The Complete Singles Collection. Thanks to the band and everyone who turned up. It was a beautiful sunny day and felt like RSD had come early with the queue outside the shop!
Throughout April we hosted some great official listening parties for; Lana Del Rey, boygenius, Daughter and Metallica! Thanks for the support, three of those albums got to No. 1 so we give yourself a pat on the back for helping them get there! Great support.
We've even asked Metallica if they fancy playing an out store across the road as a warm up for Download. (We'll take a 1% chance of this happening, you don't ask, you don't get!)
Luna doggie has chosen her pick of the month, and what Luna says goes. WOOF! This month it's 72 Seasons by Metallica - they've even sent her some merch - nice bag Luna ;)
