Our Shop

What are your opening times?
We are open 7am - 7pm weekdays, 9am - 6pm Saturdays and 10am - 5pm Sundays.  We also have events on some evenings so check out our Events page.

Do you have customer WiFi in shop?
Yes we do, pop into the shop and we'll happily give you the code, because you are awesome!

Do you sell drinks?
Yes, we have a variety of hot and cold beverages to consume.

Do you sell food?
We only sell fresh cakes and snacks (crisps, chocolate, nuts and popcorn).  If you want to bring your breakfast/lunch to eat in the shop, feel free.  We ask that you do not bring any drink items with you, as we sell these for you to buy. 

Our Products

Do you sell CDs?
We only sell local bands on CD.  Generally, we only sell new and used records and have a small selection of used cassettes. 

Do you sell used records?
Yes, we sell secondhand records.  We do not list used records (or cassettes) on our website, you must visit our store to see our selection.

Do you buy used records?
Yes, we do.  If you have a collection you'd like us to see, please drop us an email and we'll organise a convenient time to visit you.

The shrink wrap is missing from my record, has it been played?
No. If the product arrives without shrink wrap, this will be how it has arrived to us from the distributor.  Please contact us if you have a problem with this and we'll contact the distributor to clarify the situation.  

The record I want isn't on your website, can you order it for me? 
We will do our best to order the item you want, but we can only order items that are still available from the distributors.  As we sell secondhand records, we can look out for your item in any collections we come across and will notify you if we are able to find something you're looking for.

Pre-orders

Why has the release date changed?

Release dates are subject to change.  We are given provisional dates by the record distributors and these frequently change. We will update release dates ASAP, but sometimes are not told with much notice.

How does shipping work on pre-orders?

Pre-orders will usuall be shipped the day before release, usually on a Thursday.

Postage 

When will you post my order?
If your order includes items which we need to order in, or pre-orders, we will post your items as soon as we receive all items.  Otherwise, your items will be posted on the next working day after we receive your order.

Can I get free postage?
If you are a UK customer, to qualify for free postage, your order must exceed £75.  Unfortunately, we can't offer free postage for customers oversees.

I had an email to say my order was posted, but it still hasn’t arrived. What should I do?
We post items via various routes including Royal Mail and couriers.  Please contact us so we can chase this with the relevant service provider.  

Returns

There is something faulty or damaged in my order what do I do?
Get in touch and we’ll arrange a return/exchange.

I received the wrong item.
Get in touch and we can sort out the mix up.

I bought something by mistake, what do I do?
Please do not open the item.  Let us know within 7 days and we will refund, exchange or provide store credit.  You will need to pay the return postage costs and we will only refund the cost of the items, not the postage fees. Please ensure you parcel is packaged properly to ensure there is no damage in transit to us.

Gift Cards

Can I buy gift cards/vouchers online?

Of course!  If you search for 'gift card' or scroll through the products page, you can view our vouchers.  Add them to your basket as you would for any other product.

What denominations are the vouchers?

Vouchers come in £5, £10, £20, £25 and £50 denominations. 

What can I buy with my gift voucher?

You can use your gift voucher to buy anything we sell in the shop or online.

Can I swap my voucher for cash? 

Sorry but vouchers are not transferable & cannot be exchanged for cash.

The record I want to buy is less than the value of my voucher, will I get change?

If the voucher value is higher than the value of the items you're buying, the gift card will be amended to show the remaining balance. We do not give any change.

Can I use multiple gift vouchers in an order?

Yes you can, just enter each voucher code on a separate line in the box.

Do I get a card with my Gift Card?

You will get the Wax and Beans gift card and recycled envelope if you purchase in store.  If you purchase online, you will get the gift voucher code sent to you by email.  If you would like a physical copy sending to you, please let us know. We are also happy to send gift cards directly to recipients.

Events

I'd like to play in your shop, can I?
We like to support all artists and encourage as many as possible to perforrm in our shop.  If you'd like to put on an event, contact us by email.  It is the responsibility of the artist to advertise the event / sell tickets.  We will however share your social media posts and put up posters. 

Will I get paid?
It is up to you.  We sell paid tickets, where the funds go direct to the artist or we can leave contribution tubs out after your event. It is whatever option you prefer!

Artists/Labels

I'd like to sell my music in your shop and on your website?
Drop us an email with summary bio / description of the release.  We will do our best to add to our stocklist on a sale or return basis.  This means we will pay you for any copies we sell.  You're welcome to collect any unsold stock at any point.

How do I get paid?
It is up to you (the artist/label) to check on sales and request payment.  Payment will be based on our inventory.  Please contact us by email prior to dropping into the shop so we can confirm figures before your arrival.
