We are 4 today - let's send out a newsletter!

Hello everyone!

Us again, it's newsletter time and our fourth birthday! We've a tonne of stuff to waffle on about. Since the last time we spoke, we've been SUPER busy serving the best coffee in Bury and hosting great events such as Record Store Day, the Record Citizens Launch Party and of course, we had a visit from The Lottery Winners and The Lathums.

Ed here, back to fill you all in with what we've been up to, and what's on the horizon, so let's get into it!

As ever, our pre-orders are never ending. We've got hundreds of new releases listed on the website alongside some ace new reissues as well. We've included a few of our favourites below but you can check out our full list of pre-orders if you follow the linky HERE

Remember folks, it's best to bookmark the link for easy, quick access to the page!

If there's something that you have your eye on, act fast as allocations are sometimes lower than the demand and titles frequently sell out on pre order.

Our faves this time round are:

Ramona Lisa - Arcadia (Limited Indies Sea Blue Vinyl) AKA Caroline Polachek

Aphex Twin - Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / in a room7 F760 (12" + DL Code)

The Stone Roses - Sally Cinnamon + Live (6 Coloured Variants available)

Slowdive - everything is alive

As always, we want to hear from YOU! If you have any suggestions for pre-orders that we haven’t listed, then contact us HERE. Or you can drop us a message on social media or pop into the shop to have a chat with us! We've discovered some great titles through your recommendations, so keep them coming.

*Unfortunately release dates are out of our control and subject to change.* - It's getting better but pressing plants are still under a little pressure, which, let's be honest, isn't a bad thing - it shows that the vinyl format is booming.

In May we were very proud to host the out store show for the legends of Leigh themselves who stopped by in BURAY (Thom's humorous way of pronouncing it, not ours) to do an album signing of their ACE and official UK No. 1 album; Anxiety Replacement Therapy. Later in the evening across the road at The Met saw them put on a show for the ages in what was quite possibly the best performance in Derby Hall, smashing through all their hits for what was a great night.

A huge thanks and a congratulations to Thom, Katie, Joe and Rob!

Ed even put together a video showcasing the days events which we've linked HERE

Next up on our out store collabs with The Met was The Lathums. Another sold out show to celebrate their number one album. Another brilliant gig, and it was fabulous to be able to bring such a class act to Bury!

Indie Citizens Release Party

May 4th saw us host the release party for the Record Citizens Vinyl launch. What a fun night that was, with live sets from the excellent Marseille and Ruby J, who both feature on the compilation album!

We were also joined by label owner Steve (Record Citizens) who flew in all the way from Canada, now if that isn't commitment then we don't know what is! Wax and Beans clearly now has international appeal!

Copies of the record are available online and in store, grab a copy HERE

This release is limited to 100 numbered copies.

Steve has just announced Volume 2 of this superb indie comp. Again, it features up n' coming indie artists and it's available exclusively HERE

We have another exclusive for The Heavy North's second album. Delta Shakedown is due in a few months and the pre order for the Red or Blue vinyl and CD is HERE

We love these guys, exceptional lads and musicians, with a growing army of fans.

Upcoming In Store Events

Jen Dixon was just announced this week. She's playing in store on Saturday 12th August, an event brought to you in collaboration with In Your Ears Music. Grab tickets for Jen's acoustic set HERE

Before that, The Dust Coda will also be in store on July 8th. They're celebrating the release of their new album, Loco Paradise.

Competition

Sice of The Boo Radleys swung by recently to play a few tunes ahead of their UK tour. He's kindly signed copies of the new album, 'Eight' which is on transparent vinyl and available HERE

Giant Steps is celebrating it's 30th Anniversary this year and is available to pre order HERE

For everyone who orders either of these records, we'll pop you into a hat to win a signed (by Sice) Giants Steps test pressing, pictured below.

Suite Dreams officially opens!

An exciting development at Beansies is that we now have our very own luxury apartments; Suite Dreams Bury which is directly above the shop! Side A and Side B (see what we did there?) are now available to book HERE!

Tell your friends, tell your family... if they need a place to stay then the hottest new place in town is with us! Each stay comes with a breakfast and coffee downstairs at Wax and Beans the morning after.

Access (and bookmark) the Suite Dreams Bury HERE

Well, if we're honest, she's disappeared off on yet another walk with Uncle Mick without letting us take a picture of her with a rekkid.

For Dennis.

As many of you will know, Dennis our caring and funny colleague, sadly passed away earlier this week.

Dennis was one-of-a-kind. One of the best winder uppers you would ever come across! He could and almost always would give it, but wasn't so great at receiving it. He was chatty, witty and always up for a laugh. He adored his beloved Man United, and always had a love for music and DJing. He had many jobs along the way, but was never more proud than his time at Vibes (record shop). He was equally delighted to officially join our team at the start of 2022. In reality, he was part of our team and extended family long before that - he was always in the shop, we couldn't get rid of him! He was King of the Red Stripe and regularly enjoyed a few drinks with us and friends at gigs or once our doors had closed for the day. But above and beyond all, Dennis' greatest passion and achievement was his son James.

He absolutely idolised his young son James, his best friend. He showed him how to have passion for Man United, (even when they weren't winning), as well as the joys of live music and the skills of a DJ - they regularly took over our decks as the best DJ duo we've seen! He was a great dad, wholeheartedly dedicated to little James.

We are beyond devastated and heartbroken to say goodbye to our "Head of Worldwide Distribution" - his self proclaimed job title. Things won't be the same without him. We have lost a valued friend and he'll never be forgotten.

We set up a fundraiser on behalf of Dennis' family, you can head to the GoFundMe page HERE

RIP Dennis, from your Wax and Beans family.
