Description

As one of the world’s best-selling music artists, Def Leppard have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and have two albums with RIAA Diamond Certification, Pyromania and Hysteria. They are one of only five rock bands with two original studio albums selling over 10 million copies in the U.S.

The band were ranked No. 31 in VH1’s “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock” and ranked No. 70 in “100 Greatest Artists of All Time”. Released in 1983, Pyromania was the album that launched the band into Rock Legend status; it was the first to feature Guitarist Phil Collen who had replaced Pete Willis. Containing the worldwide hits’ Photograph’ and ‘Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)’ which became huge singles all over the world. It also reached no 2 in the US charts and has been certified Platinum over the world. This deluxe edition has been prepared in conjunction with singer Joe Elliott who has acted as executive producer on the set, the mastering has been done by the band’s long-serving sound engineers Ronan McHugh and Andy Pearce.

This deluxe set comes with 4CD’s consisting of the original album, a whole disc of unheard demos discovered during lockdown by Joe Elliott and an unreleased song No You Can’t Do That as well as two live shows from the era. The Blu Ray contains an Atmos mix of the album (overseen by Giles Martin) as well as 5.1 / Stereo and instrumental mixes as well the promo videos from the time and a debut on Blu Ray for a live show from Westfalen Halle in Germany (Dortmund). The book contains the history of the album written by Mojo and Classic Rock writer Paul Elliott (no relation) who has conducted new interviews with band members, as well as rare and unseen photos by noted photographer Ross Halfin.

The album also appears as a Half Speed Master for the first time.
