Can you believe it, the best day of the year is almost here again... only FIVE days until Record Store Day 2024 hits us on Saturday 20th April!
We thought we'd provide a quick update on the plans for Saturday:
1. We have TONNES of stock. Thank you so much for getting involved and letting us know what you want. We know everyone has different tastes, so we've ordered in over 75% of all the available titles and we have gone BIG on lots of titles to try to keep all you eager beavers happy! See the full list below.
2. On the morning, we will get to the shop at 6am to reinvigorate you all after hopefully an enjoyable (dry) night in Bury. We will be distributing numbered tick lists for you all to choose your "wants". Keep hold of these until we come to collect them. We will be picking your records based on your ticks and processing them through the tills in the order you queued so keep your ears open for your number/name being called.
3. Whilst talking of tills... we have upgraded to have TWO tills on the go this year (in addition to our normal till for food and drinks). We have handheld POS systems which allow us to process all the usuals - cash, cards and gift cards. All we ask, is that you're prepared - make sure you've got your dosh ready and we can churn through the queue in no time!
4. From 7am, Carrs Pasties are joining us with 300 FREE, yes you read that right, FREE pasties for all those in the queue. We will also be serving bacon butties/coffees etc if that doesn't float your boat.
5. As usual, we'll be keeping socials - Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter) up to date with what's sold out. We do our absolute best with this, but as you can imagine, products go quickly and we can only type as quickly as our fingers will allow. We also pick slightly ahead of the numbers being processed, so if you're near the front and it's sold out, you might have been the jammy one who bagged the last copy! 5. Remaining RSD stock will go online at 8pm on Monday 22nd April.
All you need to do now if get plenty sleep between now and Friday, set your alarm nice and early (or don't even bother going to bed) and get in the queue! You'll kick yourself if you grab an extra hour and end up missing out on that much needed gem for your collection!
As if RSD wasn't going to be bonkers enough already, we've added to the chaos with some live music... not one, not two but THREE shows will be happening in store!
Arcade State - Stripped Back In Store - 14:00
SOLD OUT; whilst the show is sold out, the band will be signing copies of their new album "Life Is Not Linear", so feel free to head to the shop for 14:30 if you don't have a ticket to the show and you fancy getting your record signed.
Kyle Falconer Appearance + Prose - Short In Store - 16:00
SOLD OUT; as we are busy busy, we will be emptying the shop at 16:45 to allow us time to setup for Northside.
Northside - Stripped Back In Store - 17:00
SOLD OUT; whilst the show is sold out, the band will be signing copies of their records after the show, so feel free to head to the shop for 18:00 to get yours signed if you've not managed to get yourself a ticket!
Now for the boring bit...
RSD RULES:
- EVERYTHING is sold on a first come, first served basis (sales begin at 8am)
- No pre-orders
- No saves / reservations
- Products are ONE each, but you can buy as many different products as you want
