The weather right now might continue to be hit and miss, but here at Beansies we (hopefully) never miss the mark - we've literally got something for everyone! On Friday 31st May, we were delighted to welcome the infamous Hip Hop MC Homeboy Sandman. Usually playing at large festivals such as South by Southwest, Brooklyn Hip Hop and Rock the Bells, it was extra special for us to be able to host this intimate show. Homeboy treated the crowd to a live show, Q&A session and an album playback, as part of his five-date European tour.

An attendee added: "Many local fans of hip hop, including beatmakers and DJs from the Greater Manchester area, supported the event which usually sees acts of this calibre play in Manchester City Centre, so it was great to see Homeboy supporting this indie venue in Bury."

To celebrate the release of their live album Fire In The Furnace, The Heavy North will be celebrating with us at The Met on Friday 2nd August as part of their album launch parties.

As heard on BBC Radio2, 6Music, RadioX and ClassicRock, this album is epic! We were lucky enough to be there in person (at the Camp and Furnace last year) and we cannot wait to hear the band again!

Something is occurring...

One of our lovely customers, Amber, has drawn this wonderful cartoon version of our much loved Luna dog. We think it's a cracking picture!

We've decided to take this design and incorporate it into some new merch, which will be landing on our shelves very soon.

Did you miss out on the OG?

Version one of our unique fidget spinner keyring, literally flew out the door. We limited it to only 100 and we had lots of disappointed people. You know we can't help but people please, so here it is, version two, the black and whitey!

I might be biased but this is actually my favourite, that monochrome palette is stunning.

There's so much to keep everyone of all ages entertained. With 8 different zones, you'll be kept amused all day.

Doves front man Jimi Goodwin launches his new album, under the guise of NightjaR. NightjaR is a foray into the world of Hip Hop (and it's incredible), including collaborations with Homeboy Sandman, Jason Williamson (Sleaford Mods), and Pan Amsterdam. 

Jimi will deejaying on the day, signing the new album, plus a Q&A.

Sunday 23rd June All Day: Dennis' DJ Day

Come and join us for a day dedicated to our much-loved and dearly-missed colleague and friend Dennis. On the one year anniversary of his passing, we will unite with DJ sets and memory sharing throughout the day to remember our wonderful friend.

Come along to our free monthly event where you can discover new music and make new friends too. 

Sunday 7th July @ 3:00pm: Stuart Warburton Live In Store

A free-to-attend show, friend of the shop Stuart Warburton will be playing live at Wax and Beans for the launch of his new album 'Loose Ends'. CDs will be available from Stuart on the day.

Tuesday 9th July @ 7:00pm: The Rifles Live @ The Met

In celebration of their new album, 'Love Your Neighbour', The Rifles are joining us at The Met, Bury for a live show.

Please support the band by purchasing a ticket bundle that includes the music media. These include the vinyl or CD. It helps the band in their push for a chart position, and it helps us to secure further events with excellent, talented musicians.

Luna has taken a little step back from work this month. All that quality checking last month really took it out of her so she's had a well deserved week's holiday with grandma and grandad.

Since coming back from the week of relaxation, Luna has had wellbeing at the forefront of her mind. She's been copying Naomi, getting lots of yoga practice in... her downward dog and upward dog are seriously impressive... the remaining time has been spent on the couch unwinding. #pretzeldog
