Newsletter #18

Hey!

Welcome to the latest Wax and Beans newsletter.

It's been a minute since we last spoke. That's because our newsletter guru disappeared off to Nepal to trek up a "little hill!". BUT, now we're back to "normal" and are super excited to share with you everything that's been going on and what we have to look forward throughout June and into July.

As always, we've included our favourite pre-order for the month below, but you can always check out our full list of pre-orders here. We suggest you bookmark it for easy access... don't want you missing out on a belter ;)

Just a word of warning... they do move quickly!

As always, we do want to hear from you too! If you've got any suggestions for a pre-order we don't have listed, message us here. You can also chat to us about anything else using that same link and over on social media.

Our most anticipated pre-order this month is: (it's always an impossible task to pick just one!!) We've gone with a superb reissue:

Space - Tin Planet 2022 Reissue (Clear With Silver Splatter Vinyl)

First released in September 1998, 'Tin Planet’ is the second album by Liverpudlian alternative rock band space. Upon release, the album reached 3 in the UK album charts and received both commercial and critical acclaim. highlights include the UK top ten singles ‘Avenging Angels’, and 'The Ballad Of Tom Jones’ which featured Cerys Matthews of Catatonia.

Space - Tin Planet 2022 Reissue (Clear With Silver Splatter Vinyl) (Limited Signed Edition) - £23.99

SHOP NOW

At the end of April we had the first of this year's RSD Drop. Massive thank you to everyone who supported us for the event. All customers, friends and staff who helped make the day run smoothly!

Drop 2 will be on June 18th, this Saturday (Eeek!). Keep an eye out on all of our socials for more information, as the titles arrive and lets see how many #hellodoggie videos we can get out on Twitter for the drop!

We are able to sell in the shop from 8am this Saturday with all remaining stock going online on Monday evening at 8pm UK time.

An extra special event was held on RSD which saw a live performance from The Heavy North.

The guys were in to celebrate the release of their album Electric Soul Machine. They also spent time signing records and chatting with fans. We've sold out but you can head to theheavynorth.com to secure a copy of the rekkid.

We were also graced with the brilliant James Hartley who performed to a capacity crowd right here at Beansies!

Thanks to all our live performers and everyone who came along!

You may have seen on the socials, our Ben, talking into the small screen each week to give the lowdown on of the week's new releases, reissues as well as any exciting news that he may have up his sleeve. It's completely unscripted and amateurish, it almost works!

Keep an eye on our socials each week (Thursday eve) as well as subscribing to our own you tube channel, here.

Technically we're showcasing events that are in July, but we're so excited about them we couldn't help but shout about them!

Citylightz will be performing a live in store on Saturday 30th July.

Grab your tickets here!

Apollo Junction return to Wax and Beans on Saturday 16th July. They'll be playing a full Beans set and we cannot wait. There will be a meet and greet signing after the gig.

Tickets are very limited so grab yours here!

As always, you can head to the Events page section on our website to keep completely up to date.

Thanks to our pals at 'In Yours Ears Music' for the poster designs.

We managed to pull Luna (aka Dave) away from her busy call schedule to give us her recommendation which this month is No Wow by The Kills (Gold Vinyl).

On their seminal second album, No Wow, The Kills established the ethos that would set the tone for their expansive career - capture the rawest emotions and sounds, and then push them to the furthest possible edge. The band is celebrating No Wow’s 15-year anniversary with a deluxe reissue featuring a fresh new mix by the multiple Grammy Award-winning Tchad Blake (The Black Keys, Fiona Apple, Arctic Monkeys) that brings new life to the 11 vivid tracks.

Grab your copy here.

Until next time folks, keep discovering new music, continue to be ace and let's hope for some lovely sunny British weather because gas is bloody expensive at the moment, and there's far more fun things to spend our dosh on! (like records!!)
